IIS Journal is committed to maintaining a transparent and fair publication fee policy. Any publication fee charged by the journal supports the editorial, production, publication, and long-term preservation of accepted scholarly articles.
Editorial decisions are made independently of financial considerations. Payment is requested only after a manuscript has successfully completed the editorial and peer review process and has been accepted for publication.
1. Article Processing Charge (APC)
Where applicable, IIS Journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.
The current APC is published on the journal website and may be updated periodically.
Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be clearly communicated before payment is requested.
2. When Payment Is Required
Authors are not required to pay any fee to:
- submit a manuscript;
- submit an abstract;
- participate in peer review;
- receive an editorial decision.
Payment ($60) is requested only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.
3. What the Fee Covers
The publication fee contributes to services including:
- editorial management;
- peer review administration;
- copyediting and language corrections where applicable;
- typesetting and formatting;
- proofreading;
- publication production;
- DOI registration;
- online publication;
- indexing and metadata preparation;
- long-term digital preservation;
- journal platform maintenance.
Payment supports the publication process and not the editorial decision itself.
4. Editorial Independence
Payment of a publication fee does not:
- guarantee acceptance;
- influence reviewer recommendations;
- influence editorial decisions;
- accelerate peer review;
- alter publication standards.
Editorial decisions are made solely on the scholarly quality, originality, significance, and ethical compliance of the submitted work.
5. Payment Process
Following acceptance, the corresponding author will receive payment instructions through the journal’s online system.
Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers.
The journal does not store payment card numbers or other sensitive financial information.
Authors should complete payment within the timeframe specified in the payment notification.
6. Accepted Payment Methods
Available payment methods are displayed during the payment process and may include:
- major credit and debit cards;
- other electronic payment methods supported by the journal’s payment provider.
Available methods may vary depending on the author’s location.
7. Payment Confirmation
Once payment has been successfully completed:
- the corresponding author will receive a payment confirmation;
- the journal will verify the payment;
- production and publication processing will continue where applicable.
Authors should retain their payment confirmation for future reference.
8. Refunds
Refund requests will be considered individually.
Refunds may be granted where:
- duplicate payments have been made;
- payments were processed in error;
- exceptional circumstances apply.
Refunds are generally not available after publication has commenced unless required by law or approved by the journal.
9. Failed or Incomplete Payments
Where payment cannot be completed successfully:
- the corresponding author will be notified;
- publication may be delayed until payment issues are resolved;
- the editorial decision remains unaffected.
Authors experiencing payment difficulties are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office as soon as possible.
10. Waivers and Discounts
Where available, information regarding publication fee waivers or discounts will be published separately on the journal website.
Requests for financial assistance should be made before payment is completed.
Approval of a waiver or discount does not influence editorial decisions.
11. Taxes and Currency
Publication fees are charged in the currency specified during the payment process.
Where taxes or statutory charges apply, these will be calculated and displayed before payment confirmation.
Authors are responsible for complying with any financial regulations applicable within their jurisdiction.
12. Receipts and Invoices
Payment confirmations and receipts will be provided electronically.
Authors requiring an invoice for institutional reimbursement should contact the Editorial Office before completing payment where additional billing information is required.
13. Changes to Publication Fees
The journal reserves the right to revise publication fees from time to time.
Any changes apply only to future submissions or accepted manuscripts where authors have not yet been issued a payment request.
The applicable publication fee will be communicated before payment is requested.
